Mechanical Engineering Lead - site based, Data Centre Location:

Melbourne

Salary:

$185,000 - $195,000 + super, bonus and benefits

MCR are seeking a highly experienced HVAC/Mechanical leader to act as the mechanical subject matter expert for data centre facility operations. Working directly for an owner / operator of large scale data centre sites, you will be a key part of a team tasked with developing operational excellence and processes for a large, highly technical facility.

In this newly created role, the Mechanical Engineering Lead will be a part of the leadership team on site, overseeing maintenance programs, assisting with the implementation of procedures and policies as the data centre moves to operational handover.

We are seeking an experienced engineer or tradesperson with in depth knowledge of industrial scale mechanical infrastructure that supports 24/7 critical environments. You will have the ability to lead, develop and mentor others in a technically challenging environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise and lead the site based teams, contractors and vendors

Act as Subject Matter Expert for all HVAC related equipment

Management of on site vendors and contractors including all deliverables

Ensuring continued uptime and maintaining site resilience

Developing SOPs and MOPs and ensuring that they are up to date and adhered to

Requirements

Over 5 years' supervisory / management experience in data centre, or other mission critical site based operational role

Experience in leading maintenance technicians

Experience in managing and developing preventative maintenance programs

Extensive knowledge of HVAC equipment - Chillers, CRAC units, Cooling towers, liquid cooling and BMS

Strong communicator with ability to manage both internal and external customers

Relevant degree / qualifications of equivalent work experience / trade or licences

Australian Citizenship, or eligibility to apply is essential.
