The Role
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Senior Scheduling Engineer plays a central role in coordinating operational planning and scheduling across the site. This position combines strategic scheduling oversight with leadership of the 12‑month and undermine planning function, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and operationally sound plans are delivered. You will work closely with senior leadership, technical teams, and key stakeholders to integrate business plans into weekly schedules and 3‑month forecasts, while mentoring a team of engineers and driving continuous improvement across processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead 3‑month scheduling cycles and 12‑month mine planning to support operational and strategic objectives
Align weekly, 3MS, and budget schedules with stakeholder input and operational priorities
Support the Life of Business Plan with data, insight, and scenario modelling
Develop and distribute planning documentation ahead of cycle reviews, incorporating feedback prior to GM submission
Facilitate regular planning and scheduling meetings with site and corporate stakeholders
Mentor and guide planning and scheduling engineers to build team capability and ensure high-quality outputs
Maintain awareness of current site conditions and provide input at mining and executive meetings
Review mining methods, assess economic impacts, and contribute to business case development
Support capital expenditure justifications and maintain cost models aligned with actuals
Drive planning standardization and compliance across departments
About You
You are a technically strong, experienced planning professional with a background in underground hard rock mining. You thrive in leadership roles and are passionate about developing people and improving systems. You bring strategic vision as well as operational awareness and have the ability to drive change through collaboration and clear communication.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
Significant experience in underground mine planning and schedulingDemonstrated leadership capability in a mining environment
Proficiency with Deswik and Microsoft Office
National Police Clearance (able to meet site access requirements)
WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency
Strong business case and CAPEX preparation skills
In‑depth knowledge of WA Mines Safety & Inspection Act and Regulations
