Head of Procurement

The role
The senior leader responsible for procurement and fleet oversees the design and delivery of an integrated operating model that drives sustainable value, commercial integrity and operational stability. This position ensures that sourcing and fleet management activities are strategically aligned to organisational objectives through strong governance, effective commercial controls and efficient end-to-end asset lifecycle management.
Duties
Develop and lead enterprise-wide procurement and fleet strategies, governance and policies.
Drive strategic sourcing, category management and commercial frameworks.
Ensure compliance with legislation, policy and regulatory requirements.
Oversee contract performance, risk management and lifecycle controls.
Optimise total cost of ownership through disciplined financial and asset planning
Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Actively seek and respond to feedback to improve partnerships and outcomes.
Contribute positively to a supportive, high-performing team culture.
Engage and influence business units to drive alignment and collaboration.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and frameworks.
Develop and maintain policies, procedures and training resources.
Promote innovation, continuous improvement and best practice.
Maintain professional knowledge and regulatory currency.
Identify business needs and implement practical, effective solutions.
Provide coaching, mentoring and leadership to build capability and performance.
Lead planning and delivery of directorate strategies and work programs.
Model compliance with legislation, policies, and professional standards.
Skills & experience
Prior experience in the healthcare sector is advantageous.
Energetic and focused leader who thrives under pressure.
Extensive experience in category management and embedding organisational innovations.
Skilled in end-to-end contract management and governance frameworks.
Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams.
Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills.
Experienced in change management and continuous improvement across systems and processes.
Able to manage competing priorities while delivering results and maintaining service excellence.
