Salary: $105,927 - $120,707 gross p.a. plus 12% Super

35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with the option of flexitime

Located at Nowra Administration Building

About the Role Shoalhaven City Council is seeking an experienced Strategic Relations Advisor to join our Chief Executive Office. This role involves providing high level advisory and relationship management support to both the Mayor and CEO. This includes:

Strengthening Council\'s external and internal relationships, ensuring effective engagement with government, community stakeholders, and employees.

Provide strategic advice on stakeholder engagement, political dynamics, and internal cultural considerations.

Support the CEO in fostering a positive organisational culture through transparent communication and engagement initiatives.

Draft correspondence, speeches, and talking points for the Mayor and CEO for internal and external audiences.

Monitor political, social, and organisational trends to anticipate potential impacts on Council operations.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

About You To be successful in the position, you will have:

A degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Communications, Human Resources, or a related discipline.

Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management across internal and external audiences.

Proven ability to provide strategic advice to senior executives or elected officials.

Experience in preparing high-quality briefing notes, reports, and communication materials

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
