Job Description
We’re seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join a leading Data & AI team based in Perth. Working Monday to Friday, with site travel unlikely but possible, you’ll play a key role in harnessing the power of data, data science, and AI to fuel innovation, unlock new opportunities, solve complex challenges, and enable strategic advancements aligned to the organisation’s Vision.
In this hands on role, you’ll combine forward thinking vision with a strong focus on value, curiosity, and creativity. You’ll lead the development and deployment of advanced data driven solutions, empowering decision making and operational efficiency across the enterprise while ensuring all solutions support broader organisational objectives.
You Should Have
Demonstrated experience designing, evaluating, and deploying machine learning and generative AI solutions in enterprise environments, including prompt engineering, model evaluation, and responsible use
Experience in natural language processing, computer vision, or predictive analytics
Experience with tools and platforms including Git or GitHub, Snowflake, Kafka, S3, Databricks or SageMaker
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
Practical experience applying software development industry best practices
Highly proficient in the use of Generative AI for analysis, development, deployment, and decision making
Strong stakeholder engagement and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non technical audiences

Key Responsibilities
Analyse complex data sets to deliver actionable insights and present findings to both technical and non technical stakeholders
Gather and validate requirements for data science projects, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives
Lead the development, optimisation, and deployment of advanced machine learning and AI models to drive strategic decision making
Apply principles of AI and data ethics to ensure solutions are ethical, safe, and explainable
Monitor emerging technologies and open source trends, assessing their potential impact on current and future projects
Conduct applied research to explore new methodologies, tools, and techniques
Document methodologies, processes, and insights to support knowledge management and team accessibility
Develop and maintain high quality, production ready software solutions using best practice engineering principles
Ensure the quality and reliability of solutions through rigorous testing and validation
Contribute to solution architecture and systems design to support effective enterprise integration
Manage and maintain data management processes to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility
Design, build, and optimise data pipelines and supporting infrastructure
Mentor data scientists, uplift team capability through coaching and guidance, and contribute to standards and best practice.
