Chair & Non-Executive Director

The Company is in search of a Chair and Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) to play a pivotal role in the strategic oversight and governance of its major sporting and entertainment facilities. The successful candidates will be part of a dynamic, independent statutory authority with a core purpose of owning, operating, and investing in these venues to maximize economic and community benefits. The Board, which is a skills-based entity, is responsible for the overall corporate governance, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the facilities to meet the needs of various user groups. The Chair will lead the Board, provide direction, and ensure high standards of corporate governance and compliance. This role involves acting as the primary liaison with the Minister for Sport and Events and representing the authority with key stakeholders. NEDs are expected to bring independent judgment, expertise, and diverse perspectives to the Board, actively participating in meetings, contributing to strategic planning, and supporting the Chair in achieving organizational objectives. Desired skills and attributes for both roles include experience in business and financial management, infrastructure development, legal and corporate governance, major event management, and sports administration at a senior level. Candidates must also demonstrate high integrity, sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to excellence and innovation.
