Data Architect (AWS Services) - Sydney or Melbourne

Ayan Infotech is looking for a Data Architect with strong experience in AWS Services for a fixed term 12 months contract in Sydney or Melbourne.

Due to the nature of the work involved, we can only consider candidates with full unrestricted work rights in Australia.

Required Skills and Experience:

Proven experience (10+ years) in solution architecture for large-scale data platforms.

Strong expertise in AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, etc.) and SQL skills.

Hands‑on experience with Apache Iceberg and modern lakehouse + data warehouse architectures.

Data Modelling: Proficiency in designing normalized and denormalized models, star/snowflake schemas, and data vault modelling. Familiarity with ERWin will be advantageous.

ETL/ELT Design: Experience with data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration frameworks.

Performance Optimization: Ability to design for scalability, query performance, and cost efficiency.

Metadata & Cataloging: Familiarity with data catalog tools and lineage tracking.

Security & Compliance: Knowledge of encryption, IAM, and regulatory requirements.

Cost Estimation: Expertise in sizing and cost modelling for cloud-based solutions.

Excellent communication skills for working with distributed teams.
