Principal Electrical Engineer

NES Fircroft is seeking a highly experienced

Principal Solar Project Engineer / Renewable Energy SME

to support a leading resources organisation delivering large‑scale solar PV and BESS projects as part of an ongoing decarbonisation program. You will provide technical leadership across utility‑scale solar PV through full project lifecycle.

$110–$140 p/hr + Super (dependent on experience)

Contract:

12 months initially, with potential extension across future projects

Hours:

45 hours per week

About You

Extensive experience delivering utility‑scale solar PV and BESS projects

Senior Electrical Engineer with technical engineering and project engineering experience, or Principal engineer with diverse power generation renewable project experience.

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering

Deep understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and relevant solar standards

Proven experience across the full lifecycle: feasibility, design, construction and commissioning

Your Day-to-Day

Lead Solar PV engineering including site assessment, technology selection and plant design

Develop energy yield forecasts, specifications, standards and design procedures

Support project cost estimates, scope development, procurement and FID inputs

Oversee construction, commissioning and performance testing for solar and BESS assets

Mentor project engineers and collaborate with consultants, OEMs and key stakeholders
