Manager - Digital Engineering

in IAG’s retail technology business, elevating technical and engineering capabilities across Digital Sales & Services platforms. This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in major locations of Australia and New Zealand.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of Technical Leads, influencing a wider community of engineers across multiple squads.

Establish and uphold engineering standards, ensuring architectural consistency and technical quality across platforms.

Define and execute technical strategy that supports brand autonomy and enables faster, decoupled releases and improved speed to value.

Champion engineering culture through Dev Guilds, capability uplift, and fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Influence the tech platform roadmap, aligning engineering initiatives with business goals and modern delivery practices.

Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver scalable, maintainable, and customer-centric digital solutions.

Our Tech Ecosystem

Frontend: React, Tailwind, Storybook

Backend: NestJS, AWS (Lambda, Microservices)

Tooling: NewRelic, Playwright, GitHub Copilot, Nx, RsPack

Location and Employment This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in major locations of Australia and New Zealand.

About You

Proven experience leading engineering teams in complex, multi-brand digital environments.

Strong technical foundation in modern web technologies and cloud-native architectures.

Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable roadmaps.

Passion for mentoring and uplifting engineering capability.

Experience with platform thinking, federated delivery models, and enabling autonomy at scale.

Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to deal with ambiguity.
