Assistant Director - Social Work (Women, Newborn and Childrens Service)

to join

Gold Coast Health

(GCH) where the focus of our 13,000‑strong team is on providing world‑class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

Design and deliver novel and innovative social work services, optimising patient‑centred outcomes

Actively contribute to the development of inter‑professional competence for all clinicians involved in the area child protection

Provide advanced levels of clinical expertise in Women, Newborn and Childrens Health Care with specialist knowledge and experience in child protection

Promote Social Work service through active liaison and collaborative working relationships

About you To be successful in this position you will require:

Tertiary degree in Social Work

Membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)

Blue Card/Working with children check (GCH will cover cost)

Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B

Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required

Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

17.5% leave loading

Temporary full time (up to 12 months)

Base salary ranging from $5,557.50 – $5,798.90 per fortnight

About Us The GCHHS is committed to lead innovation and provide world class health service response in Women, Newborn and Childrens health care, specifically in the area of Child Protection. The GCHHS will develop and lead an integrated response across the health district focusing on enhanced health service approaches to Child Protection within an evidence‑based practice framework. The Social Work Service actively encourages and supports the development of a range of social work clinical specialties such as child protection, family women’s and children, trauma, rehabilitation and aged care, grief and bereavement, multicultural health, domestic and family violence.
