$61.76 per hour + Super
Full-time | 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
Our client, a large and progressive local government organisation, is seeking an experienced
Finance Business Partner
to join their Corporate Accounting team based in Logan Central.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, influencing decision-making and delivering high-level financial advice in a complex environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Coordinator, you will work with a high degree of autonomy to provide strategic financial management services and expert advice to support corporate objectives and long-term financial sustainability.
You will play a key role in financial planning, modelling, analysis and performance reporting while partnering closely with operational leaders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Management
Provide advice on short and long-term financial planning and forecasting.
Develop financial modelling scenarios, including rates modelling and long-term financial plans.
Conduct cost-benefit analysis and present findings to senior leadership.
Analyse financial performance against budget and provide actionable insights.
Identify financial risks and assess project viability and funding options.
Support the implementation of financial sustainability strategies.
Review and enhance financial costing and capital accounting systems.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Translate complex financial information into clear, practical advice.
Prepare concise and strategic reports for diverse audiences.
Represent the finance function at meetings and forums.
Resolve complex issues collaboratively to drive best-practice outcomes.
Identify and implement system and process improvements.
Contribute to business improvement initiatives aligned with organisational strategy.
Support a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
About You
You are a commercially astute and analytically strong finance professional with experience operating in medium to large organisations.
You will bring:
Tertiary qualification in Business, Accounting or related field.
CPA or CA membership (or eligibility) desirable.
Demonstrated experience delivering financial analysis and advisory services.
Advanced financial modelling and costing expertise.
Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
Proven experience building collaborative stakeholder relationships.
Strong report writing skills and experience providing independent professional advice.
