About The Role
The Projects Group is responsible for developing, delivering and assuring project‑related changes and improvements across the regional rail network.
The Senior Engineer forms part of the V/Line Projects Engineering and Design Review Team, providing MEP design review activities across multiple projects. Projects will include but not be limited to: Sunshine superhub, Melton line upgrade, LXRP, Station and rail corridor upgrades.
Key accountabilities
Extensive experience in designing and delivering MEP systems across rail and construction projects.
Proven engineering background with hands‑on experience in construction management and delivering solutions for complex rail infrastructure or major construction projects.
Strong organisational capabilities, with a track record of managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to oversee a wide range of project elements, including planning, design, construction, cost management, and quality control.
Skilled in leading, delegating to, and providing guidance for both employee and contractor design reviewers.
Location & Travel Considerations
Located at 452 Flinders Street Melbourne, flexible working available with 3‑2 flexibility and Tuesdays as in office core day.
About You
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
Registered Professional Engineer Victoria (RPEV) in mechanical or electrical engineering
Senior design competencies in one or more of: Electrical and/or Mechanical Services; Lighting; and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
In‑depth knowledge of four or more of the following – HVAC, LV supply and distribution, HV supply and distribution (desirable), solar power systems (desirable), lighting, fire safety systems, security and access control, vertical transport, plumbing (re‑use/recycled desirable) and drainage
Delivering Engineering projects within Australian network
