Organisational background and Team information Ramahyuck District Aboriginal Corporation (RDAC) was established as an Aboriginal Community Controlled organisation in 1992 to improve the social, health and economic outcomes for Aboriginal people. RDAC is a leading provider of primary health care and related social and family support services to Aboriginal people and communities across Gippsland. RDAC's services are provided at the following locations: Sale and Morwell. RDAC's services include: general practice health assessment and education audiology chronic disease management drug and alcohol counselling child and family services child and maternal health; home and community care immunisation and vaccinations social and emotional wellbeing support and counselling allied health client transport and corporate services child care service The Primary Health Care Team aim to provide holistic quality health care services, which meet the health care needs of the communities in which we deliver services. All Ramahyuck clinic's are accredited against the RACGP Standards and registered with GPA. Our health team professionals provide a comprehensive range of health care services inclusive of: health checks, general medical complaints, immunisation, diabetes education, venepuncture, maternity care and chronic disease management. Position Purpose The role of General Practitioners working for our clinics is to provide primary healthcare to our patients. This care may be provided in the surgery or in the patient's home, which may include Hostel or Nursing Home. This care is to be conducted in accordance with generally accepted practices and procedures as determined by appropriate authorities from time to time, for example, but not limited to, the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, the National Health and Medical Research Council Key Responsibilities Service Delivery:
- Act at all times in a professional manner in accordance with the policy and procedures of Ramahyuck District Aboriginal Corporation - Maintain vocational registration through continued participation in Quality Assurance and Continuing Professional Development - Contribute to the Practice Incentives Programmes - Participate in regular staff meetings including clinical Sustain general practice by contributing to better management of human and material resources by: - Consulting and collaborating with colleagues to provide optimal care - Building the practice base - Maximising financial efficiency Improve health outcomes by contributing to and enhancing the management and prevention of ill health through: - Health screening - Immunisation - Recall - Patient education - Outreach services - Systems management - Home Visits - Acute and chronic disease management General: - Model the behaviours expected of others including RDAC's values - Provide and promote effective communication, excellent customer service; empathy and compassion; and cultural awareness in all activities. - Attend staff and medical team meetings - Undertake mandatory training as directed - Ensure personal and team contribution to support overall team effectiveness - Ensure compliance with Statutory and Regulatory requirements, and RDAC policies, processes and procedures - Foster productive working relationships with relevant external stakeholders, including specialist providers, hospitals and government departments. - Participate in regular supervision and debriefing with the General Manager Health Services - Complete other tasks as directed by the Practice Manager, General Manager Health Services or Chief Executive Officer Position Requirements Qualification/Licenses: 1 Medical Practitioner Registered to practice in Victoria (AHPRA Registration)
2 Bachelor of Medicine or recognised equivalent 3 Current Working with Children's Check 4 Medical Defence Insurance appropriate for employment in General Practice within Victoria 5 Satisfactory Criminal History Check 6 Current Victorian Driver's License 7 Satisfactory pre-employment pass drug & alcohol screening 8 Immunisations in line with Ramahyuck policy Key Selection Criteria: 1 Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Well developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people,particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples 2 Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement 3 Demonstrated ability to provide highly qualified GP services 4 Proficient in the use of Office programs and word processing skills including reporting data bases 5 Demonstrated professional work ethic and superior time management skill Ramahyuck District Aboriginal Corporation promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.
